Here I am, 'round 8:30am, crashed at Jack's. Jack is a very nice guy, and runs lights w/ Azar in Groovin Ground. It has been some weekend, and I'm enjoying the gypsy-like status. Everyone took Fri. off (like they have jobs) and went to Tyler, TX to play Elmo's. That was fun, and we seemed to make more than we thought. We all crashed Scott's, making his floor space one continuous matt of GG bodies. His dog was very cute. I tried to take her w/ us.
Then, we journeyed back to Austin and played this fantastic gig at Antone's on Sat. nt., openin' for Oteil Burbridge of Allman Brothers, Vida Blue (I think), and Aquarian something project fame. They knew how to jam- and the guitar player, Mark, seemed really nice and humble. They all seemed that way. Oteil could rip, man.
Now, today, Jack and I journey to Corpus Christi to play at the BB King festival. GG has had some good shows this weekend, boy! I'm goin' w/ Jack and missin' the bus 'cause Jack needs to be back in Austin Mon. morn as well. The rest of the band drove thru the nite and are crashed right now. The gig is at 4pm- and I'm very excited as Del Castillo is on after us- old friends of mine who've done very well lately, and I shall enjoy seeing again. Hopefully, we can get the Brothers Castle on the stage to jam w/ us- man can they rip, together. Then, the rest of the band's gonna party on the beach, w/ Dean, brother of Nick Chambers, GG drummer, providing his expert chef skills! Now, I'm gonna miss that!
