11-30-03

well, it's the day after t-givin' weekend and the experience of t-givin' this year reminded me of somethin' harry buffalohead, grandpa, told me over twelve or thirteen years ago. he said that no one on this planet will love you more than your mother will, and he also said that he really missed his old folks, especially his mother.

there was family discussion concernin' my folks livin' by themselves out in the country. in the end, my sis heather made an offer to buy a duplex and move them into it in lubbock. my folks are up in their mid-70's and we all need to really think about their future.

after thanxgivin' dinner, everybody pretty much split except for me. i stayed a couple of days w/ the folks and it was very good and relaxin'. thanx for the new b-ball shoes! it made me realize how much i need to appreciate them now and how much more time i need to spend around them. i love them.

there was a family jam as usual on the nite before thanxgivin'. i was tuckered out from austin life and the drive, so they outlasted me. it was dad on lead and my three sisters singin' harmonies, and me, in the end, tryin' to keep w/ their classic-folk rock requests.

it's good to be back home in austin, though. bein' the only single guy amongst the fam, and the stress of my parents' future is a little dispelled.
